According to the latest, several different brands of peanut butter and almond butter have been recalled from Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and other grocers because of a possible salmonella contamination. USAToday reports:

“nSpired Natural Foods is voluntarily recalling its Arrowhead Mills peanut butter, MaraNatha almond butters and other brands of the nut butters, according to a release from the Food and Drug Administration.

The company was notified of four illnesses related to these products, the FDA says.”

As we all know, there have been quite a few salmonella outbreaks recently, some of which included contaminated peanuts, so the risk of becoming infected is very real.

Consumers of the possibly contaminated nut butters are being instructed to throw away the product and call the company for a refund or replacement. To see the full list of possibly contaminated nut butters, click here.
