What a week in America. The revolution is definitely televised. And so every movement needs theme music right? G-Unit‘s “Aww Shit” is their response to law enforcement in light of the incidents in Ferguson and in Staten Island. It features verses courtesy of Young Buck and Kidd Kidd. For his part, Fitty is smart to put out this socially conscious hood flavored track that captures the essence of these moments we’re living in.

Let’s keep it activated with more of that powerful politically charged but raw hip-hop muscle.  B.o.B‘s song “New Black” probably won’t get the same attention as G-Unit, Elle Varner or J Cole’s records. It’s not even in the same lane but it does give a healthy reality check to anyone willing to listen. Bobby Ray has a way with words and his lyrics on New Black will agitate a few, but B.o.B. has a point….

Now back to the hot street shit…On the road this week I heard some new riot music courtesy of Wiz Khalifa and Young Jeezy. Khalifa’s “On Me” sounds something special cruising on any street in any city but in the club, it’s like  a soundtrack to a movie. Producer The Beat Bully hit ahomerun on this track.

Chris Brown is back with another hit that will most definitely have him splashed across multiple charts in the coming months. The song is called “X” and it’s and EDM flavored beat with a slight hint of Turn Up courtesy of the peoples maestro Diplo. Don’t know if it was Ri Ri and Karrueche who inspired the lyrics but it don’t suck to be Chris Breezy.

Remember Rich Boy “Throw Some D’s On It?” That was a classic club record back in 07. Since then, it’s been real minimal from the Jackson Miss MC. So I was happy to hear his new joint “Ridin Thru My City” which features a dope verse from The Game. While not on the commercial level as “Throw Some D’s,” its still some dope ish. “Ridin Thru My City” definitely passes the car test.

Until we read again…
