Meet Michel Sproles.
Michel is married to Philadelphia Eagles star Darren Sproles, but there’s much more to her than just being an NFL wife. The 30-year-old mother of two was diagnosed with Ductoral Carcinoma In-Situ, better known as the earliest stages of breast cancer. Just seven days after being diagnosed, Sproles, who was just 28 years old at the time, underwent a double mastectomy to ensure she would be able to live a long healthy life.
Two years later, Michel is cancer-free and dedicates a large portion of her life to educating young women about this disease and encouraging them to stay on top of their health, regardless of age. She does so through her business endeavors; Sproles is the founder and owner of both 7 Image Salon and its charitable counterpart, The Pink Line.
While 7 Image aims to use beauty to empower, The Pink Line’s goal is to raise awareness, specifically among black women, about the importance of early detection. She donates a portion of all proceeds from The Pink Line to making free wigs and hair units for breast cancer patients currently undergoing chemotherapy. She also often hosts free events, which grant women access to free medical screenings and more in underserved communities such as South Central, Watts, and Compton.
