Summer is almost over, but Rocawear is heating things back up with their latest Summer/Pre-Fall collection.
This time around, the brand tapped Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy to model their latest line, proving they have much more than faces for radio before opening up about their radio careers:
How did you first get into the radio game?
DJ Envy: I got into deejaying by befriending DJ Clue. He was my neighbor and i would see him all the time in nice cars and sneakers which as a kid i thought he sold drugs lol. So one day I asked him and he told me he was a DJ and I was intrigued. He invited me to his mother’s house to see his studio and from there I was hooked.”
What is your best advice to individuals trying to get into the entertainment industry?
Charlamagne Tha God: Keep God First, Stay Humble, and Keep Working. Also let gratitude be your attitude… when you’re happy for everything that comes in your life, you will get blessed with more. My grandmother always told me “ manners will take you where money won’t”, treat everyone from the custodian to the C.E.O. with respect. When you leave let people say he or she was a pleasure to work with that’s the highest compliment you can receive.
