Ray Rice will forever be looked at as a monster.

A piece of crap.

Garbage.

Scum.

A punk.

The worst.

He’ll never have another endorsement deal. His mentions are going crazy right now, with all types of people commenting on his despicable acts in that elevator.

Now Ray Rice has lost his job, and might very well never play another down in the NFL, since the league has suspended him indefinitely.

I remember when I was a young boy, my grandmother and mother would always tell me to keep my hands to myself. Obviously, Ray Rice didn’t get that memo growing up.

His actions are horrible, but they are not unforgivable. Right now, everyone from fellow players to actors are condemning Ray Rice on social media. There is a social lynching going on right now that everyone, including myself, is taking part in.

Maybe the next time Ray Rice will think twice before he puts his hands on another woman – but who is going to step up and help him? Who is going to be the person to pull him to the side and say, ‘Look brother, how you treat your wife isn’t right’?

Who is at the Rice household now to help his wife in case he flips out and does something awful to her because, in his mind, he’s not to blame?

Where is the system in place to get these guys help? Because while punishment is truly needed, jail has never stopped a murderer from murdering, never stopped a rapist from raping, and what makes you think that a suspension or a ban will make a women beater stop beating a woman?

I’m not saying the Ravens shouldn’t have fired Ray Rice, I’m just saying they need to come to him as brothers and get the man some help. Point him in the right direction to see the error of his ways.

Keith Olbermann nailed it when he explained Ray showed very little remorse during his 17-minute press conference. He also never acknowledged what actually happened in that elevator. If he had, this video wouldn’t have been such a shock.

I know emotions are high right now, but someone needs to get this man some help before he hurts someone again. A friend, a teammate, a coach, someone who knows this guy is out of pocket. How else can we break the cycle?
