Let us preface the story with this — we all want to see Beyonce. We love Beyonce. Beyonce is everything.

So we really can’t blame Madison, a sixth grader at the Inspired Teaching School in Washington D.C., for wanting the same thing. Her disappointment that President Obama was visiting her school for a public service event and not the queen herself is quite understandable.

From The Washington Post:

Then a sixth-grader named Madison, standing next to the president in the assembly-line style operation, broke the news to him that she had been informed an important guest was going to join the activity, and she “thought it would be Beyonce.”

“Then I realized it was gonna be you,” she added.

Well, damn. The President played it off, responding by saying his teenage daughters, Malia and Sasha, would feel the same way. That’s when Madison cleaned up the shade and turned on the cuteness.

“But then I realized it was going to be you…that’s even better.”

We just can’t. Obama, quick with his zingers, responded with this:

“I appreciate you saying that in front of the press, even though it’s not really true.”

But leave it to the First Lady to keep it real:

Michelle Obama then joked, “I’d rather see Beyonce.”
