New York Knicks owner Jim Dolan must have a little too much time on his hands.

Apparently, Dolan has written a song about a very sensitive topic in America: Trayvon Martin. He thoroughly describes the event in which the tragic shooting occurred, over harmonies. It all sounds so awkward and uncomfortable. The full lyrics are below, thanks to tweeter Kevin Draper:

Is it just us, or does this feel and sound extremely inappropriate?

Meanwhile, in other NBA news, Atlanta Hawks GM Danny Ferry took an indefinite leave of absence this past Friday after making racist comments about a player.

Hawks CEO Steve Koonin has been refusing calls for Ferry to be dismissed, but the 47-year-old general manager has voluntarily taken leave. Koonin said in a statement:

My hope that this time away from the Hawks organization allows him the privacy he needs to listen to the community, to learn about his mistakes, and to begin the long process of personal healing.

Ferry released his own statement about the incident:

My focus moving forward is to tirelessly work to rebuild trust with this community and with our fans.

During a conference call with the Hawks ownership group, Ferry made a disturbing comment about player Luol Deng, describing Deng as someone who “has a little African in him. He’s like a guy who would have a nice store out front and sell you counterfeit stuff out of the back.”

Awkward moments in the NBA for $500, Alex.
