A man is being accused of killing his ex-girlfriend’s dog, and then serving it to her as a meal after the pet disappeared following an argument between them. Reports say that Ryan Watenpaugh and his ex made up after their dispute, and she was served a meal that appeared to be pork, but then received a text message the next day from him asking how her dog tasted. A news anchor in Illinois recently made a sad announcement to viewers during a newscast this weekend, as he told them he only has a few months left to live. While talking during his live telecasting, Dave Benton told viewers that his brain cancer had returned, and that it was too big for surgery or radiation. He is getting treatment so that he can have a few extra days to enjoy with his wife and two children. [Gossip Cop]

The rare respiratory virus called Enterovirus D68 has spread to New York. The virus has already sent hundreds of children to the hospital, with 12 of those kids being from the Big Apple. The New York State Health Department revealed in a statement, “EV-D68 is causing cases of severe respiratory illness … sometimes resulting in hospitalization, especially among children with asthma.” [Gawker]

During an ambush at a police barracks in Pennsylvania, a shooter, or multiple shooters, recently shot and killed a state trooper, and injured another one. Police are now offering a $25,000 reward to anyone who has information leading to the arrest of the shooters involved. So far, several hundred state troopers and police are involved in the manhunt.
