Mara Hoffman, synonymous with her swimwear designs consisting of vibrant kaleidoscopes of color, decided to trade in the flashy for a more muted scheme for her S/S 15 collection appropriately titled “The Sunrisers”.

The collection consisted of pieces that echoed ‘70’s inspiration mixed in with a few 2014 trends. Considering prints have made major appearances on the S/S 15 runways, Hoffman took a risk by using a more leafy fabric that got us all high due to its resemblance of cannabis leaves.

The designer gave us more fashion munchies by transforming the popular light summer fabrics of linen, gauze, and cotton into loose floor sweeping maxi’s and jumpsuits. Other looks included lots of abstract sunrise prints, embroidery and weaving.

Trends Spotted: Its all about the three C’s:Culottes, cut-outs, & crop-tops! Along with leafy harvest like prints, beaded and embroidered patterns, and printed baseball caps with ribbon tied backs.

Faces in the Front Row: June Ambrose and her adorable daughter, Summer (Stylist).

My Rating: Hoffman’s collection screamed to the free-spirited gal whose idea of summer style is relaxed yet super chic. I loved how the looks could all translate from the runway to a sandy Hampton’s beach.

My Favorite Look: The boxy crop-top culotte pant combo featuring an Aztec inspired black and white print.
