Trends may change, but season after season, show after show, one thing has been consistent: the lack of color seen on the runways of fashion week. And by color, we don’t mean the use of bold fabrics in prints and patterns alike.

There’s always been an absence of models of color, a much-discussed topic time and time again. But, filed under “black excellence,” was the Ashish Spring/Summer 2015 runway show during London Fashion Week yesterday.

The only thing louder than designer Ashish Gupta’s sequin-covered pieces was the statement he made against the lack of diversity in the industry by debuting a beautiful bevy of black models, including America’s Next Top Model contestant Chantelle Brown-Young. Now, that’s how you really rule a runway.

And filed under “things we so desperately need:” this KimYe sweatshirt.

Mr. and Mrs. West were absent from fashion week, but they were there in spirit, er sequins, along with the likes of Miley Cyrus and One Direction.

Christmas is just right around the corner. Hint hint.
