You know what we love more than a good clutch? A clutch with a cause.

Not only is Kerry Washington an Emmy-nominated actress, but she is also an activist and advocate of domestic violence awareness. On the small screen, she plays Olivia Pope, but her real life role is as an ambassador for the Allstate Foundation Purple Purse program, which seeks to help women suffering from domestic violence and financial abuse.

Last night, the Scandal star was seen making quite the fashion statement, wearing a striped Suno paneled dress and carrying a limited-edition clutch she designed for the foundation to help highlight issues against women, especially as they have been all over headlines as of late.

The bag, which is the color of domestic violence awareness, was debuted yesterday evening at an event in New York City, where she told InStyle:

“It’s not just something that hangs on you, but it’s something you can hold,” she said. “You can hold your independence, your well-being, your future, and your safety.”

It isn’t available to purchase, though. The only way you can get your hands on the bag is by making a $10 donation to a participating foundation in the Purple Purse Challenge to be entered into a drawing to win one of three clutches being given away.
