An Oklahoma man decapitated a coworker and stabbed another at their Vaughan Foods, Inc. workplace on Thursday.

Officers responding to the scene found two women stabbed and a man shot inside the factory in what they are describing as workplace violence.

According to NewsOK:

Alton Nolen, 30, was identified as the man who was shot, and is accused of stabbing the two women, police Sgt. Jeremy Lewis said.

Nolen was shot by an off-duty Oklahoma County reserve deputy who is employed by the business, police said.

Shortly before 4:15 p.m., callers told police someone was being stabbed in a fit of workplace violence. Minutes later, police received calls of an active shooter situation at the same location, Lewis said.

This isn’t Nolen’s first run-in with the law.

According to the state corrections department, Nolen was convicted in January 2011 of multiple felony drug offenses, assault and battery on a police officer and escape from detention. He was released from prison in March 2013. Neither woman had any relationship with Nolen.

Authorities have yet to release the names of the two women injured in the attack. One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Another was taken to the hospital with multiple stab wounds.

Nolen is expected to survive.
