Niykee Heaton kicked off her music career singing covers on YouTube, but it wasn’t until her manager convinced her to post hip-hop covers that her career really took off.

The 19-year-old singer/songwriter’s rendition of Chief Keef’s 2012 smash “Love Sosa” garnered her national attention, and basically, the rest is history. The “Bad Intentions” singer recently inked a deal with Russell Simmons and Steve Rifkind’s ADD52 via Capitol Records, and her EP, Bad Intentions, debuted in the top 10 on iTunes.

Niykee stopped by GlobalGrind’s offices to discuss her musical influences, her Instagram “thirst traps,” rappers and athletes sliding in her DMs, Chief Keef inviting her to a sleepover at his mansion, and of course, her new EP.
