Protests calling for justice in the days since unarmed teenager Michael Brown was fatally shot by Officer Darren Wilson haven’t slowed down and show no signs of doing so.

On the heels of Ferguson’s Weekend of Resistance — a two-day movement organized by youth leaders in Missouri as a call to action against police brutality and racial bias — Jamilah Lemieux, writer and editor for Ebony.com, will moderate a panel of young activists about their experience in Ferguson and how youth organizers are mobilizing the movement for justice.

“I hope this will be a productive conversation and an opportunity for folks outside of the Ferguson area to hear about what’s going on in St. Louis straight from the source,” Lemieux said. “These young people are brilliant, resilient and organized, and I’m honored to be able to support them in any way.”

Rapper Tef Poe and activists Tory Russell of Hands Up United and Brittany Ferrell will share their stories at the Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz Center in Harlem on Tuesday evening. Ashley Yates, co-creator of Millennial Activists United, will also deliver her testimony on police brutality. Yates was recently arrested during a peaceful protest by Ferguson police, held for hours and forced to wear an orange jumpsuit.

The town hall meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. EST.
