Nas is trying to build himself the next great rap label. The legendary emcee already has underground faves like Boldy James and Dave East signed to his Mass Appeal label. Flying Lotus’ latest album, You’re Dead!, is officially in stores. To celebrate the occasion, the rapper dropped some album notes on his Twitter yesterday. During his chat, he talked about everything from the Kendrick Lamar collaboration, to the making of the Snoop Dogg-featured “Dead Man’s Tetris.” [Twitter]

Chicago MC Mick Jenkins’ music is full of depth. And so are his videos. The rapper dropped the video for “Treat Me,” which features Supa BWE. In it, we see the difference of how police treat a dark-skinned person and how they treat a fairer-skinned person. [Complex]
