At thirteen years old, most of us were concerned with impressing the boy we were crushing on and trying to get ourselves through that awkward phase in our appearance. Clearly, our priorities were nowhere near those of Mo’ne Davis.
At thirteen, she’s already made history in the Little League World Series and covered Sports Illustrated, all while perfecting her 70 mph killer fastball pitch. While her young age would make this impressive enough, the fact that she’s a girl kicking butt in a male-dominated sport is what’s really getting people’s attention.
“Some say I should play softball because I’m a girl, but that doesn’t bother me,” she says.
In the November issue of Teen Vogue, the tween sports phenom shows us she not only has talent, she’s got style and brains too. Decked out in Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham, Davis talked to the mag about her influence on other young girls:
“It’s a big responsibility knowing that other kids are watching what I do. But, if I can inspire girls to reach their goals, then I’m happy.”
