Comedian Artie Lange, who is known for his fails in comedy more than his wins, ate his words on Twitter Wednesday after sending some sexually charged and racist tweets to ESPN’s First Take host Cari Champion.

The comedian, who’s had his fair share of airtime on ESPN’s First Take, decided to articulate his thoughts on Champion via Twitter, which included beating the host and other inappropriate “jokes” about being her slave master.

We know Lange has no filter, but the comedian actually noticed the huge amount of backlash and apologized to Cari.

Sort of.

He also mentioned that he lost out on an opportunity to appear on Comedy Central’s late night show “@midnight” over his comments – because that’s what matters, right?

While Lange issued a half-assed apology, ESPN released a statement about the comedian’s “jokes:”

“His comments were reprehensible and no one should be subjected to such hateful language. They objectify and demean one of our valued employees under the thin guise of ‘comedy’ and are offensive to all of us. We will not dignify them with any other comment.”

And Lange went back to trolling the internet:

Just another day full of misogyny and racism. And no, just because it happens does not mean it’s acceptable.
