Kerry Washington and her makeup guru have done some incredible work together, as we’ve seen on countless red carpets.
Well, we’re finally getting the story behind how the Scandal star landed Carola Gonzalez to be part of her glam team in a new interview and photoshoot with The Hollywood Reporter.
Kerry says of their first encounter:
“I was going to the NAACP Awards to support a girlfriend, but I needed my hair and makeup done. Carola was filling in for another makeup artist who was out of town. I looked at myself in the mirror [when Carola was finished] and that was it.”
So, what exactly is Carola obsessed with?
“Carola is obsessive about eyebrows. She needs the mascara wand to fix lashes and brows. I could be getting out of the car for a red carpet, and she’s like, ‘Wait!’ — fixing an eyebrow. It happened outside the Met Ball.”
