Fresh after being named the new face of Estee Lauder, Kendall Jenner is speaking out about her new gig as well as those pesky rumors that she’s dating Justin Bieber.
In an interview with Nightline, Kendall reveals that she and the “Baby” singer have been friends for a while, saying:
“He’s a longtime friend of our family. Everybody loves to assume things, but no.”
She also spoke about all the reasons she did not want internet breaking big sister, Kim Kardashian, to attend her shows. Though Kimmy was not “banned” per se, the sisters came to some sort of understanding.
“It was more of a mutual understanding.” She tells Nightline, “I think that if my sister was sitting front row, and my sister is who she is, I know this sounds kind of weird but it would have almost taken the attention away from what I’m trying to do on my own.”
The 19-year-old also took the time to address the haters. After she scored major gigs such as walking in the Marc Jacobs fashion show, many people cried nepotism, claiming that she got the opportunity because of her name. Kendall on the other hand, says differently:
“In reality, I worked pretty hard for this, like running around doing tests” she says. “It wasn’t like I just got it magically and it just happened.”
As for the critics who say she is too young to have walked that runway bare-chested, Kendall stands behind her decision stating:
“Who’s going to argue with Marc Jacobs when he’s putting you in an outfit, you know what I mean?” she says of risque runway show. “It was an amazing moment. And I do not regret it.”
