Life for actor Paul Walker‘s father, Paul Walker III, has been difficult since the tragic death of his son back in November of 2013.

Though Paul’s daughter, Meadow, has been on the mend since, it seems as though Paul III has been having a harder time moving on. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Paul’s father opens up about how difficult it will be living through the one year anniversary of his son’s death:

“I’m not looking forward to Thanksgiving,” Walker III told ET‘s Nancy O’Dell. “He died two days after that and I guess it’ll probably be that way until I’m with him. It’s a sad time. We’re a very close, loving family and Paul is a piece that’s missing now, that we’re always going to miss.”

The heartbroken father also opens up about the fateful day he found out his son had been killed:

“I kept getting calls,” the father of five said. “My brother says, ‘Paul has been killed.’ I’m thinking somebody’s got it wrong. He says, ‘You need to get over to the house, everybody’s there.’ My feet wouldn’t move.”

Though he is grief-stricken, he has a wonderful last memory of his beloved son. Paul III admits:

“The last time I saw him, he gave me a kiss on the cheek, I gave him one. I tell him I loved him. It’s a great memory.”
