Compton rapper YG started off the year strong with the release of his debut album, My Krazy Life, and he’s ending the year even stronger with a 30-minute short film.

Inspired by My Krazy Life‘s album cuts “Meet The Flockers” and “BPT,” YG began writing the script for a film he hoped would accompany the release of his debut. Unfortunately, YG was unable to do so, but while he was embarking on his solo tour, the “Bompton” rapper began producing a film he would ultimately title “Blame It On The Streets.”

GlobalGrind caught up with YG right before “Blame It On The Streets” premiered in New York City. The 24-year-old rapper discussed his vision behind the short film, touring alongside A$AP Ferg on their “BestCoast Connection” Tour, and revealed how he felt about Kendrick Lamar’s “Saturday Night Live” performance.

“Blame It On The Streets” will premiere on December 15 along with a 9-song soundtrack.
