If you weren’t able to get into the world premiere of the Annie remake, fear not. You can now relive it via a recently released clip, in which Jay Z, Will Smith, and Sia all dish their thoughts about the film and soundtrack while walking the premiere’s red carpet.
Annie, one of our favorite movies of the year, stars the very talented Quvenzhané Wallis (11), who most recently told ELLE mag she doesn’t want to grow up. Super cute, right?
As far as the film goes, Jay Z had this to say:
“It feels like NYC, it feels like magic, anything can happen. You know, as a consistent theme there, that story of hope.”

Steve Carell was set to star in Pyongyang – “a thriller based on a Guy Delisle graphic novel that centers on a Westerner in North Korea who is accused of espionage” – but that’s not happening. As Sony suffers through an aggressive cyber attack, whose masterminds are allegedly based in North Korea, New Regency dropped the plans they had for the film.
According to THR:
The film had been slated to start shooting in March, sources say, but the project was killed after hackers launched an aggressive and financially devastating attack on Sony because of The Interview, which centers on an assassination attempt on North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un.

Surprisingly, there’s a silver lining to the cyber attack against Sony.
According to new reports, the company’s stock rose in Tokyo following violent threats against theaters that planned to show The Interview.

The Thursday stock gain came as Asian markets in general rose on Thursday, helped by the latest economic and monetary policy comments, but Sony’s stock handily outperformed the 2.3 percent increase of Japan’s benchmark Nikkei stock index. Sony’s stock is typically more driven by various other factors, including economic trends and oil prices, but at least one Japanese observer argued that it seemed to outperform the market Thursday partly due to the cancelation.
“Investors think that from here on, further damage probably won’t be done,” Reuters quoted Makoto Kikuchi, CEO of Myojo Asset Management, as saying. “Whether that justifies a 5 percent jump in Sony’s stock, I’m not so sure.”
We’ll just have to wait to see what happens. But it looks like there’s some truth to the saying “All press is good press,” after all.
