What does a cop do when he has time on his hands? He rides around on the top of his squad car like tomorrow is his last.

And that’s exactly what was going on when an NYPD officer fell off his car, injuring his head in Brooklyn on Monday morning.

A surveillance video shows the officer lying on top of a car driven by his colleague and hitting his head on the pavement when the vehicle comes to a full stop.

A video by Eyewitness News shows the officer lying on top of a police car until it came to a sudden stop at Seton Pl. and Parkville Ave. in Flatbush at 7:51 a.m.

The uniformed officer slipped off the hood, stumbled and fell backward, hitting his head on the ground.

A cop walking in front of the now unjoyful officer went over to help him, as did the officer who was behind the wheel, the video shows.

The officer, whose name has not been released, suffered a head injury and was taken to Lutheran Medical Center shortly after the accident.

The incident comes after some NYPD officers turned their backs on New York Mayor Bill de Blasio at fallen New York policemen Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos’ funerals. In response to de Blasio, the NYPD has allegedly engaged in a slowdown in arrests to show their disapproval with the mayor.

Both officers involved in the tomfoolery are expected to be written up on “departmental charges.”
