If you’re on Facebook, you might be familiar with the event Photo Doggies For Anthony.” If you’re not, let us fill you in…

Anthony Lyons is a 16-year-old from the Phoenix, Arizona area who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Some days, he gets dog visits at the hospital to lift his spirits, but some days he doesn’t. So a family friend created a Facebook page for individuals to post pictures of their dogs to help make him smile.

The world has come together and within a week, the Facebook page grew to a whopping 1.5 million people. Anthony’s mother, Kristen Lyons, expressed how much she appreciates everyone’s support:

“I cannot express the joy we have gotten from these photos. We have looked at each and every photo and video and we laugh and sometimes cry just from the outpouring of support. I will never be able to thank you all enough and all of you are the amazing people that have your best friend pets by your side day in and day out. We are so incredibly thankful for you sharing and loving your pets as much as we love ours.”

As the page has gone viral, many have been posting very inspirational and moving pictures of their dogs and their own stories that are bound to make you cry, smile, and sometimes both. Check out the gallery below for a few of the moving posts and keep rooting for Anthony’s recovery.
