A white man, who was said to be a “survivalist,” from Oklahoma has not been arrested, nor charged, after shooting a black police chief three times in his chest, and once in his arm.

According to ThinkProgress.org, 29-year-old Dallas Horton was released, and a press statement from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation read:

“Facts surrounding the case lead agents to believe the man was unaware it was officers who made entry.”

Louis Ross, the police chief who was shot, however, says that a 911 call was placed by Horton, who claimed to “have a bomb inside the head start school.” Ross says that there was “screaming from five officers of the law announcing our presence, requesting to see hands.”

Ross survived the shooting, due to his bulletproof vest, with the shot to his arm going straight through.

The OSBI also said that Horton is “fully cooperating with the on-going investigation” and “no traces of explosives were found.”

We will keep Louis Ross in our prayers and hope that justice is served.
