A black woman, in the neighborhood of Chevy Chase, Maryland, woke up to a disturbing racial slur spray painted across her garage door yesterday morning.

On MLK Day, a neighbor was walking by her home, when they noticed the phrase, “N**** go home” was painted in red letters on her property, and alerted her immediately.

According to reports, the victim then called 911, before her and the neighbor worked to remove the foul markings off of the door. The police are currently investigating the incident, and posted a photo of the scene to their Twitter asking anyone to come forward with information.

The woman had just moved into the neighborhood only a week prior, and police believe that the racial slur was painted between 2 PM Sunday, and 7 AM on Monday.

Montgomery County, where she lives, is known for being one of America’s most affluent towns, with a median household income of $250,000.

If you have any information regarding this incident, contact the local police at 301-279-8000.
