As promised, President Barack Obama’s 2015 State of the Union Address was chock-full of initiatives to bolster the middle class and make education affordable for both college students and preschoolers.

He began with a heartfelt message to Americans, thanking them for their endurance and hard work and marking a special occasion years in the making.

“Tonight, for the first time since 9/11, our combat mission in Afghanistan is over,” Obama said. “Six years ago, nearly 180,000 American troops served in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

He continued, outlining his vision for middle-class economics, with proposals that will make community college free for two years, raise the minimum wage, provide paid sick leave for employees and implement tax hikes on the wealthy.

“Middle class economics works…as long as politics don’t get in the way,” he said.

But nothing, and we mean nothing, was as scathing, shady and effective as the line he threw when discussing his agenda for the next two years.

If you aren’t completely floored by the audacity of that statement while addressing both Republican-controlled houses of Congress (and House Speaker John Boehner’s face after that BOOP), then read his follow-up.

“My only agenda for the next two years is the same as the one I’ve had since the day I swore an oath on the steps of this Capitol — to do what I believe is best for America. If you share the broad vision I outlined tonight, join me in the work at hand. If you disagree with parts of it, I hope you’ll at least work with me where you do agree. And I commit to every Republican here tonight that I will not only seek out your ideas, I will seek to work with you to make this country stronger.”

And that, ladies and gentlemen, that is the only thing you need to see from the 2015 State of the Union address. May this ad-libbed line go down in history.
