A woman in Athen, Alabama was seen by witnesses trying to give away a child to passer-bys outside of a Walmart on Saturday evening.
Sebrina Ann Thompson has been arrested, and is facing charges of child endangerment, after she attempted to hand the victim over to those walking in and out of the store. According to WAFF.com, the child was a relative, and not her own.
Officers also report that Thompson was allegedly intoxicated, and was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia as she is being held in Limestone County Jail. Fortunately, the child is in their parents’ custody, and has not been identified.
We hope that the child involved can remain safe after these events.
