Joey Bada$$ has a strong message, and he’s showing it to us through the harshest reality possible.

The Brooklyn rapper just dropped the video to his track “Like Me,” which features BJ The Chicago Kid, and it dives into the controversial topic of unarmed black men being gunned down by police.

Joey plays a cool guy who doesn’t involve himself in violence, but gets caught up in the mix and in the face of officers just by being from where he’s from, opposite the hard-headed lead, who is shot down by them prior.

He said of the powerful visuals, which also reference to Mike Brown and Trayvon Martin:

“I pray that there is hope. But even the fact that I have to dream like that is what’s disturbing. My message is that it can happen to any one of us.”
