#OscarsSoWhite, an 18-year-old black girl gets slammed for rocking locs.
When Zendaya Coleman walked down the Oscars red carpet rocking faux-locs on Sunday night, many praised her for wearing the non-conventional hairdo to an award show that revered mostly white people.
Tons of fans supported her look, with the exception of E! News and Fashion Police co-host, Giuliana Rancic. On Monday’s episode of the popular show, the 40-year-old anchor claimed that the locs “overwhelmed” the former Disney star and that “she probably smells like patchouli oil … or weed.”
Unamused by the “joke,” Zendaya graciously took to Instagram to give her two cents on why Giuliana’s comments were “disrespectful,” stating:
After much backlash from viewers, Giuliana issued an apology on Twitter:
Dear @Zendaya, I’m sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!

First off, Zendaya looked beautiful, second of all, Guiliana should probably refrain from commenting on historically, religiously, and culturally significant styles she knows nothing about.
