A social studies teacher and debate coach at the Bronx High School of Science was arrested on child pornography charges this past Friday. A complaint was filed stating that the teacher, named Jon Cruz, offered underage boys money to send him naked photos via the messaging app Kik.

The complaint, filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan, alleges that Cruz paid three boys to send him photographs between August 2014 and February of this year, the Times reports. Two of the boys were 15-year-olds from New Mexico; one was a 14-year-old from upstate New York.
According to the New York Post, Cruz allegedly paid one of the boys in New Mexico $1,600 in Visa and American Express gift cards for nude photographs.
Cruz was charged with one count of production of child pornography, one count of receiving child pornography, and one count of possessing child pornography.
Cruz taught AP United States Government & Politics with Economics.
Meanwhile in Ohio, a kindergarten teacher who resigned in December due to felony drug charges, is being accused of secretly recording his students in the bathroom.
According to Daily Mail:
Elliot Gornall, 32, a former teacher at R.F. McMullen Elementary School, is found to have allegedly used a tiny spy camera hung inside a plastic hook on the wall of his classroom’s bathroom, according to prosecutors.
He had dozens of videos featuring 25 separate students on his personal computer which were taken by authorities during a drug raid at his home in November.
Elliot faces 25 felony charges, which include 23 counts of illegal use of a minor in a nudity-oriented material or performance. If convicted, he could be facing 184 years in prison.
