The hip-hop community suffered a loss yesterday, and now we’re in the process of healing.

Following such an epic Roc-A-Fella reunion during his “B-Sides” concert on Saturday, Jay Z pressed repeat and did it all over again Sunday night in New York City.

Jay rearranged his set list to pay homage to Coke Boyz rapper Chinx Drugz, who was gunned down in his Porsche Panamera in Queens, New York early Sunday morning.

Jay paid tribute to Chinx by saying:

“A young man got killed last night named Chinx. I think it’s real important for us…I can understand it. We are seriously under attack like never before…rest in peace to Chinx. And we’re still killing each other. We need to understand that we are kings and queens and we’re under attack. A young man trying to make his way out the hood…and goes back to his hood. People always say “they left the hood and never want to come back” but when you go back to the hood you get killed. We can’t have it both ways.  We gotta protect our own. We gotta protect our own….We gotta take responsibility for what we’re doing. You understand what I’m saying? The statistics are against us, lets not make it harder on ourselves.”

Watch the heartfelt tribute up top.
