Actress and comedian, Anne Meara, has died at the age of 85.

The Stiller family released the following statement regarding the sad news, but did not reveal a cause of her death:

“The Stiller family is deeply saddened to share the beloved Anne Meara passed away last night at the age of 85. She is survived by her husband and partner in life, Jerry Stiller. The two were married for 61 years and worked together almost as long. Anne’s memory lives on in the hearts of daughter Amy, son Ben, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and the millions she entertained as an actress, writer and comedian.”

Meara enjoyed success through dozens of television and movie appearances, most notably on sketch shows such as The Ed Sullivan Show, where she performed with husband, Jerry Stiller, as Stiller & Meara. The two were married in 1954 and had two children, Amy Stiller and Ben Stiller.

In recent years, you might have seen Meara star as Miranda’s mother-in-law on Sex in the City. She also made appearances alongside Ben in Night at the Museum and Zoolander. She was nominated for five Emmy’s throughout her career.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Stiller family.
