A freelance writer and recent newlywed from Texas stood up for men everywhere after an internet troll mocked his tearful wedding photo.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Adam Harris explained how he became the target of internet scrutiny last week when a Twitter account ran by people who identify as “meninists” made fun of his wedding photos.

A play on the word “feminism,” the group mocks social injustices between men and women by posting offensive comments that skew the meaning of touching photos.

Enter Harris’ emotional and heartfelt photo. The 23-year-old tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Tisa. As he watched Tisa walk down the aisle during the ceremony, he was brought to tears.

But his photo was mocked, because…internet.

After seeing his wedding photo hitting viral status, Harris provided the perfect zinger.

This is what he had to say about moment:

“It was raining all day and windy,” he said. “We were a bit afraid the ceremony wouldn’t happen outdoors like we wanted it to but around noon the rain let up until the end of the ceremony. We agreed not to do the first look because we thought it would be more exciting to see each other for the first time during the ceremony. When it came time in the ceremony for her to walk down the aisle our DJ played “Beautiful” by Meshell Ndegeocello and the doors above the stairs opened. When I saw her, I couldn’t hold back feelings of excitement and love, she looked gorgeous. Our photographer, Dustin Finklestein, captured the moment perfectly.”

Harris added that the photos from his wedding were already memes but this one was the most offensive. Kudos to Harris for handling the trolls of the web with class!
