Jay Z came, he saw, and he conquered, but Made In America Festival won’t be returning to Los Angeles this year.
Last year, Jay made the announcement that there would be dueling MIA festivals simultaneously going down on Labor Day Weekend in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
Despite having Kanye West, Imagine Dragons, Kendrick Lamar, Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora, Steve Aoki, and John Mayer leading the festival’s lineup, it appears the two-day fest didn’t fare well with the L.A. crowd.
Budweiser’s VP of Marketing, Brian Perkins, spoke to Billboard magazine about the decision:
“This is not at all a stepping back — this is a reevaluation of the model of going from one location to two to three. We’re a very ambitious brand, and we have a very ambitious partner in Jay Z, who also dreams big. And we always want to do big, bold things with music under the moniker of Budweiser Made In America.”
For everyone worried on the East Coast, don’t fret, the festival will be returning to Philadelphia for its fourth year on September 5th.
