Suge Knight‘s legal team will return to court today in efforts to lessen the $10 million bail assigned to him following hit-and-run murder charges from an incident in early 2015.

From Yahoo! News:

Knight’s attorneys are expected to contend Friday the bail amount is excessive and should be reduced, but a prosecutor argues the amount is appropriate given his criminal history and failure to appear for court hearings in other cases.

Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Barnes also noted in a court filing that Knight was on bail for a felony robbery charge when he ran over two men, killing one and seriously injuring the other, outside a Compton burger stand in January.

Knight, 50, has pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges.

In addition, Knight’s lawyer, Thomas Mesereau, submitted a video of the event from TMZ as evidence, but the court has not officially recognized it as evidence in the case.

Knight’s legal team has maintained the position that he was “ambushed and fleeing an armed attacker” when he ran over and killed Terry Carter and seriously injured Cle “Bone” Sloan this past January.

A Superior Court judge originally set Knight’s bail at $25 million, but it was slashed to $10 million following a preliminary hearing in April.

Meanwhile, Knight is definitely not living the suite life while in jail. Mesereau has reportedly filed documents requesting better medical and sanitary conditions for Knight, citing that the poor conditions are damaging to his mental health.

The toilet in Knight’s cell allegedly flushes every 20 minutes like clockwork, day in and day out, and his jail bed is not fit to support Knight’s 6’2″ frame, preventing him from getting a proper night’s sleep.

TMZ is reporting that Knight is suffering “from numbness on one entire side of his body and doctors have told him he might have a brain tumor.” As a result, Knight is seeking a facility with competent medical care.

Yikes. The bizarre events surrounding this case don’t seem to let up. We hope justice is sought soon.
