An Arizona teenager was arrested earlier this week after posting a message on Snapchat that claimed he was planning a school shooting.

According to NBC News, the unidentified 16-year-old posted two pictures of the crowded hallways at Sierra Linda High School in Phoenix on his Snapchat. The caption read: “Planning the school shooting,” with smiley faces. A student in Colorado who viewed the Snap said she was so upset by the images, she screenshot them and showed her mother, who alerted authorities. The girl, known only as Kaylee, told NBC affiliate KUSA:

“It freaked me out. I didn’t want to assume it was a joke because if I would have woken up today and seen that he really did shoot up a school, I know how bad I would have felt if I know I could possibly have stopped it.”

The teen has been detained on one count of creating a hoax, a class 4 felony, after admitting that although it was his photo, it was just a prank.
