Hip hop is mourning the loss of Dex Osama, who was shot and killed in Detroit this morning.
The rapper was reportedly targeted while standing outside of a strip club after an argument inside the establishment spilled out into the street. Dex was shot in the chest, while another victim was shot in the elbow.
Earlier this year, Meek Mill signed Dex to a record deal and the Dreamchasers CEO took to Instagram to reflect on his passing.
Damn RIP YOUNGIN….. Had a lot of talks with you about getting out them streets and chasing ya dreams! I really believed in you and seen you putting on for Detroit! RIP @dex_osama 🙏🏾 for all my fellow young kings coming up tryna make it out, take ya time and think about where you want ya life to go! MAY GOD BLESS HIS SOUL! Never let them streets shatter ya dreams!!!
Dex also received a co-sign from fellow Detroit artist Dej Loaf, who brought him out during a performance at HOT 107.5’s Summer Jamz concert back in June. Watch the two on stage below.
As of now, no arrests have been made in the shooting that killed Dex Osama. We’ll keep you updated as this story develops.
