Ahmed Mohamed has had a whirlwind of week.

After being arrested for bringing a clock to his Texas school (which teachers and law enforcement initially believed was a bomb), Mohamed has received awesome gifts from Microsoft, met Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and even gotten a tweet from the POTUS himself.

Now, the 14-year-old is making TV show appearances. He stopped by The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore and dished on his infamous arrest. Larry Wilmore asked, “Be honest, keep it 100. Was it a little cool to be arrested?”

Mohamed laughed and answered:

“It was kind of cool. The only reason I felt cool about it was because I knew I was innocent and I knew that if I did take it to court, I would win.”

Although the science enthusiast has maintained a sense of humor throughout the situation, authorities have yet to return his clock. According to reports, Ahmed is seeking to regain his science project from the Irving Police Department. The family hired lawyers Reggie London and Thomas Bowers, who released a statement on behalf of Ahmed’s parents:

“The family says that Ahmed has been severely traumatized. The family wants justice and to ensure no family will ever have to experience what Ahmed went through again.”

Mohamed’s parents say they’ve un-enrolled their three children from the Irving School District and they are now being homeschooled. We say, give Ahmed his clock black!
