Patti LaBelle‘s sweet potato pies are flying off the shelves after a fan hit a high note last week while tasting the pie in a viral video.

“Thank you for calling Walmart, we’re out of the Patti LaBelle pie, how can I help you?” was the message a writer at the Washington Post received this weekend after calling the store, where the pies are sold for $3.48.

Walmart stores around the country have reported selling out of the pies in cities, including Los Angeles, Miami, and the singer’s hometown of Philadelphia as of Sunday afternoon, according to TheGrio.

The hysteria began after James Wright Chanel posted a video Thursday of himself singing the diva’s hits, “If Only You Knew,” “You Are My Friend” and “On My Own,” while tasting the pie. The video has been viewed more than 7 million times on Facebook and more than 700,000 times on YouTube.

LaBelle reportedly called Chanel to thank him for the sweet review, and for inspiring legions of curious people to run out to buy the pie and test it for themselves:

And you can ignore those rumors that hundreds of people died after eating Patti’s Sweet Potato Pie, because they are just that. The website ReportQuickly published an article on Nov. 14, claiming that hundreds of people passed away after consuming Patti’s Sweet Potato Pie, but it’s not true, according to Snopes.
