A 20-year-old man was charged in the death of a Ferguson mother and aspiring nurse he met online through Facebook.

The Huffington Post reports Sharae Bradford, 25, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in her apartment Saturday. On Tuesday, Stassie Greer, 20, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and two counts of armed criminal action. The Medical Examiner confirmed her death was caused by the gunshot; semen was also found on various areas of her body.

Police confirmed Bradford and Greer exchanged messages on Facebook before Greer arrived at her Ferguson home after traveling from the neighboring town of Jennings. After the alleged killing, Greer fled with Bradford’s cell phone and an unknown amount of money. Surveillance cameras helped track him down.

The Huffington Post reports:

Greer had agreed in a Facebook message to meet Bradford at her residence, according to the Major Case Squad Investigators of Greater St. Louis, an inter-departmental law enforcement group. Bradford and Greer had arranged to have sex in exchange for money, according to a probable cause statement from the St. Louis County Police.

Greer’s family members told ABC7 he had a history of assaulting women and was mentally ill. Yolanda Seay, Bradford’s mother, mourned her loss on Tuesday.

“He had this already planned, for him to come in here and do what he did.”

“She didn’t bother nobody, she just wanted life, the best life possible for her and her daughter, that’s what she was reaching for,” Yolanda Seay said.

Greer is currently being held on a $1 million bond. Bradford is survived by her 6-year-old daughter.
