Just months after the release of their record-breaking biopic Straight Outta Compton, legendary rap group N.W.A will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year. Music artists are eligible to be featured in the hall of fame 25 years after their first album or single was released. “This means that the group’s mark is solidified. We got some of the most creative, talented people in N.W.A that’s ever been compiled in one group. It’s just exciting that the group as a whole gets recognized by the whole industry as Hall of Fame-worthy,” said Ice Cube. This is the fourth time that the Compton-based group has been included on the ballot. “I never thought the type of music we were making would receive such a high accolade. I have always done what I love to do, so to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is unreal,” said Dr. Dre. Other inductees include Steve Miller, Deep Purple, Cheap Trick and Chicago. The induction ceremony will take place on April 8, 2016 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Read more.
