Patti LaBelle is on her second win.
Meet Eric Seats, the 41-year-old drummer and Patti’s new young man. The DailyMail recently confirmed that Seats, a successful musician, and LaBelle have been dating for several years, but she only recently started showing him off.
The pair met when he was hired to be her drummer several years ago. While some may consider Eric an opportunist because of the 30-year age difference, the drummer is extremely accomplished.
He’s toured with Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Timbaland and Missy Elliott, in addition to producing songs for Destiny’s Child and Aaliyah. “He made her feel at ease and she loved that he had such a vast experience working in the music business,” said a source close to Patti and her pies.
In 2000, Patti divorced her son Zuri Edwards’ father, Armstead Edwards, a former school teacher she had been married to for over 30 years. Patti was also briefly engaged to former lead singer of The Temptations, Otis Williams.
The couple most recently spent three days during the Christmas holidays on her yacht in the Bahamas. Congrats, Patti!
