We’re not quite finished rejoicing over the news that Mattel has finally introduced a diverse series of Barbies.
Now, a young designer from Nigeria is calling on the company to take it a step further. Twenty-four-year-old Haneefah Adam introduced “Hijabarbie” to represent Muslim girls around the world, and the doll has quickly become Instagram’s latest style sensation.
Hijabarbie’s Instagram account features her in multiple looks, with each dress and hijab created by Haneefah herself.
Could Hijabarbie be next in Mattel’s diverse line-up of dolls? We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
