Sadly, sneaker violence is nothing new. Its earliest notable account can be traced back to the cover of Sports Illustrated 26 years ago with text that read, “Your sneakers or your life.” Not much has changed since, and Dazie Williams, who lost her 22-year-old son in 2012 due to sneaker violence, wants something to be done about it. Williams was killed in a robbery after purchasing a pair of “Bred” Air Jordan XIs and despite a call from Michael Jordan offering his condolences, his mother doesn’t think Nike has done enough to prevent similar crimes. Luxe leather brands like Hender Scheme and Sneaker Homie have taken advantage of the upscale loungewear wave. This time around, Sneaker Homie gave the Yeezy Boost 750 a natural Vanchetta leather get-up, laces included. As with most leather goods, after tons of use, the patina will change and take on more of a unique personality. Supreme is known for its rebel-like mentality when it comes to apparel and footwear designs, and it’s always eaten up by skaters and hype beasts alike. With a recent run of Jordan collaborations under the company’s belt, it’s time for the Air Max 98 to get an updated finish. The 98s are a oft-forgotten addition to the Air Max line, with the 90s, 95s, and 97s being the most popular. Details are scarce, but the Supreme collabo kicks will be offered in Black and Snakeskin. The Black pair go for a stealthier look with some simple patent leather, and the White pair adds some subtle snakeskin that circles the vamp and toe box. Read More
