Meet Australian singer/songwriter Grace Sewell.

The 18-year-old Aussie recently burst onto the music scene when her G-Eazy-assisted remake of Lesley Gore’s feminist anthem “You Don’t Own Me” earned over 15 million streams online. The remake, which was produced by music legend Quincy Jones, became a top 10 viral hit on Spotify, and Grace hasn’t looked back.

Inspired by artists like Lauryn Hill, Etta James, Aretha Franklin, and Smokey Robinson, Grace possesses a certain poise that’s reminiscent of her soulful predecessors.

Grace brought that poise and stoic energy to GlobalGrind’s offices when she performed her smash hit “You Don’t Own Me.” Despite being extremely mature for her age, Grace quickly reminded us that she is still a young woman when she decided to cover Kendrick Lamar’s 2012 hit “Swimming Pools (Drank).”

Grace’s debut EP Memo is currently available on iTunes. Watch our exclusive interview with Grace above and check out her cool ass cover of Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools” down under.
