Is it just us, or did Super Bowl 50 feel more like Beyonce Bowl II?
Last night, Queen Bey shut down the halftime show…again. In addition to the jaw-dropping “Formation” dance routine and powerful vocals, Mrs. Carter took her opportunity on the big stage to send a powerful message: Black Pride.
And she did it all while channeling Michael Jackson. Her custom DSQUARED2 leather jacket adorned with gold bullets was inspired by one the King of Pop famously wore during his own 1993 halftime performance.
In total, Beyonce was decked out in 100 carats, including 31-carat football-shaped diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz and an equally as heavy bezel ring.
But the message didn’t stop there; her dancers paid homage to the Black Panther party in classic berets and Dr. Martens “Persephone” boots.
As for Bruno Mars, his Versace shirt and trousers screamed Run-D.M.C. – even down to the dookie chains.
So hip-hop!
