Bobby Shmurda’s situation just got a little worse.

After his bail was denied for the seventh time last month, his trial was scheduled to begin on February 22, but has now been postponed until May 11.

Kati Cornell, the Director of Public Information at the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor in New York, informed XXL on Tuesday, February 9 of the updated trial date. Last month, the 21-year-old Brooklyn native tried to have his $2 million bail lowered to a more feasible amount, but to no avail, the motion was denied.

Born Ackquille Pollard, Shmurda’s legal woes stem from a December 2014 arrest, in which he and several other GS9 crew members were charged with conspiracy to commit murder and drug and gun possession.

He’s currently facing a sentence of 8-25 years.
