The rumor mill is buzzing with news of Dr. Luke potentially being dropped from Sony. Dr. Luke, as some might recall, has been accused of emotionally, physically, and sexually abusing his recording artist, Kesha. Although his contract isn’t set to expire until 2017, Vulture reports the label is facing increasing pressure to give him an early release.

“The pressure on Sony to drop Luke has been mounting since Kesha first sued Luke, in 2014, for sexual, physical, and emotional abuse (later adding Sony to that suit), and more recently after Kesha lost an injunction to be released from her contract with Dr. Luke.”

Dr. Luke’s legal team responded with a comment through EW, saying the rumor of him being dropped is “not true. Luke has an excellent relationship with Sony. His representatives are in regular contact with executives at the highest levels at Sony and this has never come up.”

One would imagine Sony has to do something, and soon, as fans have already protested outside their headquarters and are currently scheduling another one.
