J. Cole is waking up to some very good news. Too bad he’s married.

Hollywood beauty Nia Long, most known for her roles in classic films like Boyz In The Hood, The Best Man, Friday, Soul Food, and even Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, sat down with Larry King to discuss her 25-year career in Hollywood.

During their interview, Larry King mentioned hip-hop’s obsession with Nia, citing rappers like Kanye West, J. Cole, and A Tribe Called Quest, who’ve all name dropped the 45-year-old actress.

When asked why rappers have been obsessing over her existence the past 20 years, Nia initially said “I don’t know.” After a few laughs, Nia went into further detail, stating:

“Here’s the deal. So I grew up at a time where Puffy Combs was running nightclubs in New York City, and Boyz in the Hood was out, and Heavy D–my beloved brother who I miss madly–you had Biggie Smalls, you had Tupac, and there was Boyz in the Hood. So this was an era where we were all growing up in this business, and kind of changed the game a little bit, and gave urban music, Black music and Black films a space to actually do our thing. And I think that the rappers just kind of…were feeling Nia Long a little bit.

With J. Cole being the most recent rapper to name drop Nia in a song, Larry King recited the North Carolina rapper’s lyrics from “No Role Modelz,” on which he raps, “My only regret was too young for Nia Long.”

Nia quickly responded, “He’s really not too young. He just doesn’t know it.

Ladies and gentleman, Nia Long has lots of game.
